“This model is posed as a tsarevna - a shapeshifting creature from Slavic fairy tales - sleeping in a river of milk, surrounded by her victims. “If a traveler should somehow trespass,” says Russian artist and @TEDFellow Uldus Bakhtiozina, “The tsarevna turns him into a moth, a prisoner of its attraction to light.” Uldus explores pre-Christian ideas of femininity, magic and paganism, creating her own story of Russian identity. The result is a series of whimsical, haunting images that shed new light on old stories. See more of @uldusss’s analog photography at http://ift.tt/1KdGdao” by @ted on Instagram http://ift.tt/20vUELd
